About

Pumps is a publication about rising fuel prices and what to do. It is edited by Maribeth Miller sometimes known as Pump Girl. (She loved Pump Boys and Dinettes, and got called out of the audience more than once to join in!)

OldProf is a former public policy professor — a quant guy. His students liked his ability to take complex subjects and make them understandable. For the last twenty years he has worked with futures, options, and other derivatives. He works for Pump Girl.

Hi (Pump Girl or perhaps OldProf),

Quick story idea - I am the co-founder of a company providing Carpooling/Ridesharing on a global scale to help reduce costs and CO2 emissions. The idea is that we are mixing social networking with eBay like features to help individuals to leverage their personal vehicle to cut down on their carbon footprint. We are focussing on getting people to rideshare to events, (concerts, festivals, marathons, sporting events), where users have an affinity and would like to travel with people sharing the same interests.

I am not 100% sure that our story fits with your blog – it seems to as we look at the rising costs of fuel and what individuals can do to offset their costs. However if you are interested in finding out more and doing a story on us - please contact me.

Thanks a lot for your time.

    Cheers,

    Eric
