Will Americans Sacrifice?

John Edwards thinks it’s possible. In front of a forum held by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, the candidate said he would ask ask Americans to sacrifice their SUV’s and focus on fuel-efficiency.

As president, he will ask people to concentrate on energy conservation and alternative energy creation.

“We are the worst polluter on the planet. We are 4 percent of the world’s population, we’re putting out 25 percent of the world’s greenhouse gas,” Edwards said. “America’s going to have to change.”

He got applause.
